SP DroneFeed connects the DJI Goggles 3 (and Goggles N3) and compatible controllers directly to your computer. On the current release for Apple Silicon Mac via a single USB-C cable, stream live video in real time from aircraft including DJI Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, O4 Air Unit (Pro), paired DJI O3 Air Unit, Avata 2, and DJI Neo with a native hardware-accelerated GPU engine, real-time live stabilization, and instant D-Log M to Rec. 709 conversion. For Windows PCs and pilots flying with Goggles 2, Goggles Integra, or FPV V1/V2, compatibility is in active development with Windows builds and our dedicated SP DroneFeed Box.

Instead of hauling extra receivers or bulky third-party streaming boxes that overheat and drain batteries, the workflow with DJI Goggles 3 is direct: a single USB-C cable from the goggles to your Mac. Using DJI's native local streaming architecture, you monitor any aircraft paired to your goggles with near-zero perceptual decoding latency.

Monitor in full Retina resolution the flight of O4 or O3 aircraft paired with Goggles 3 — including DJI Mini 4 Pro, DJI Air 3, Avata 2, DJI Neo, and O4/O3 Air Units —, delivering the live feed to directors and clients on set in real time, or feeding switchers (ATEM) with broadcast stability.

01. I plugged the USB-C cable into the Mac, but the application does not detect the goggles. What should I check?

In almost all cases, the cause is a charge-only USB cable. Cables supplied with phone wall chargers typically wire only power pins and omit high-speed data transmission lines. Solution: use a certified USB-C cable with full high-speed data support (USB 3.0, 3.1, or Thunderbolt) or the original DJI cable connected to an OTG adapter into the Mac. Avoid long passive extension cords or unpowered hubs.

02. Goggles are connected to the Mac via USB/OTG, but the screen stays black on the desk. Is the app working?

Yes, 100%! When 'Camera View Recording' is turned off in the goggles, SP DroneFeed operates in direct clean feed mode (raw aircraft camera video without OSD telemetry). In this mode, if the drone or Air Unit is powered off, no video is generated and the Mac screen stays black waiting for the drone to power on. If you want to confirm on the desk that the cable and OTG adapter are working before powering the drone (viewing the classic blue background of Goggles 3), or if you want to stream with full OSD: on Goggles 3 go to Settings > Camera > Advanced Camera Settings and TURN ON 'Camera View Recording'. As soon as the quad powers up, the feed appears immediately.

03. The app detects the connection but receives no video packets (local network block). What to check?

Real-time streaming establishes a direct high-speed virtual data connection between the goggles and the Mac. Corporate security tools (Little Snitch, LuLu, antivirus) or the native macOS firewall may block local data packets. VPNs with active Kill Switches can also intercept this traffic. Solution: in System Settings > Network > Firewall, allow 'SP DroneFeed Mac' to receive incoming connections on the local network. If using a VPN, pause it during streaming.

04. The app reports a busy USB port ('Device Busy' or access denied). How to fix this?

Applications such as DJI Assistant 2 or background diagnostic utilities claim exclusive communication with the goggles, preventing SP DroneFeed from establishing control of the connection. Solution: quit DJI Assistant 2 and related daemon processes completely. Unplug the USB-C cable for 3 seconds and reconnect. Only one application can control the data stream at a time.

05. Goggles are connected, but 'Liveview sharing temporarily paused' or ocean wallpaper appears. Why?

This message appears exclusively when Real View (PiP / front passthrough cameras on DJI Goggles 3) is active. When the pilot double-taps the side of the goggles to see their surroundings, DJI firmware prioritizes physical pilot safety and temporarily halts external LiveView sharing. Solution: double-tap the side of the Goggles 3 to exit passthrough and return to full-screen flight; streaming to the Mac resumes instantly.

What is the real latency of SP DroneFeed Mac? Can I fly freestyle looking only at the Mac screen?

Internal processing and graphics presentation latency on the Mac is sub-millisecond (< 1 ms). The goggles wireless transmission link adds typical latency of 80 ms to 140 ms end-to-end. SP DroneFeed is built for directors, camera operators, clients on set, ATEM switchers via clean HDMI, and ground DVR recording. It is NOT intended to replace the optical goggle display for 100 km/h acrobatic freestyle flights.

I fly DJI Goggles 2 or Goggles Integra. Does the Mac app work directly via standard USB cable?

Not directly via standard USB cable. DJI designed Goggles 2 and Integra with a closed communication architecture that omits native direct video streaming to computers over USB. For these goggles (and also FPV V1/V2), we are engineering the SP DroneFeed Box: a dedicated standalone hardware unit featuring ultra-low latency physical HDMI output.
